George’s work with the Mesoamerican Reef Fund is an example of one such cross-border collaboration. The Mesoamerican Reef is a system of interconnected and interacting marine ecosystems arching through the territorial waters of Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico. The MAR Fund mission is “To enable innovate, transnational solution to critical Mesoamerica reef issues through providing meaningful, long-term financial support and trustworthy reef management advice so that future generations can enjoy and benefit from a thriving reef system.”
